Established in 1952, Quarry Rovers is a friendly, community club in Headington, Oxford.

The club takes its name from Headington Quarry, a part of Oxford where limestone was quarried for use in buildings around the UK. The famous Radcliffe Camera in Oxford is made from Headington stone.

The club crest features two tools used in the quarry: a hammer and a spike.

Quarry Rovers’ home games are played at either Margaret Road Recreation Ground or Barton Bradley Recreation Ground.

Quarry Rovers is FA Accredited: “Football leagues and clubs accredited by The FA have positively changed the football landscape over the last 20 years. They create the ideal environments to nurture players, coaches and volunteers. The result is greater diversity and inclusivity through football. “

Some Quarry players have gone on to be professional footballers:

• Chelsea legend, Clive Walker, played for Quarry,
• as did Matthew Taylor, the former Luton Town, Portsmouth, Bolton and West Ham midfielder.
• Gboly Ariyibi was spotted as a youngster at Quarry and has gone on to play for Chesterfield and MK Dons.
